from holiday inn shanghai downtown to hongqiao railway station

I will take the train from SH to Beijing. how to get to HQ from Holiday Inn downtown? How long it will take from downtown to HQ? Do I need to stand by in the railway station one hour before the train departure? thanks

Walk from your hotel to SH Railway Station to take MTR line 4 to Zhongshan Park, where transfer to line 2 to HQ Train Station. The wholr journey takes around 40min. Generally, it is not necessary to get there one hour before. Half an hour before train leaving shall be fine.
