What is the process of getting a visa from Thailand to visit China?

As I know, you have to be a legal resident with valid certificates or visa of stay, residence, employment or student status, or other valid certificates of legal staying for application there. Otherwise, you may need to apply in your home country. You are suggested to contact the Chinese embassy directly for this.
