Am I allowed to take oyster shell to India from China?

These are not live, just empty shells. Is it allowed by Chinese and Indian Customs?

I heard it is forbidden to take the natural shells out of China, but for the man-made ones for gifts, it is ok to bring home. As for whether allowed to take into India, you should consult your country customs.
