About:Ge Garden

Hi, I'm going to be going to Guangzhou to visit a friend for a week.

As I'm staying with him I was hoping to apply under S1 so I do not have to show proof of hotel booking (if I went in as an L).

However some of the information I've read suggests it's only possible to get this for a family member and you need to provide a marriage or birth certificate to prove you are related (which is not going to be possible).

Can anyone shed any light on this?

I meant S2, the shorter visit one.

Yes, you can try to apply for S2 type one with invitation letter from your friend identifying the nature of the private affairs.
