About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

72 hour visa free Beijing

I was wondering if I don't have tickets in hand will my Itinerary will work to show I have follow on destination?

No, you have to prepare confirmed flight ticket for application of this free transit.

I ask because I have a ticket to Beijing, stop for 70hrs, it is a planned stop more than a layover and then on to Hong Kong, all the same air line(china southern). I made my itinerary using Orbitz, do you know how this will work for me or if I'll be able to apply for the 72hr free permit or am I going to have to get a tourist L?

It is ok, make sure inform Southern airline before boarding plane to PEK about the free transit request so that they will mail your information to the airport prior to your landing. If you have air ticket leaving within 72 hours to HK, then it is ok for this free transit.
