About:China Student Visa

question regarding changing visa

I want to go to china with L (tourist) and look for some good school and then apply to it, and then change my L into X (student).

Is that possible inside the mainland or is it necessarily to get the X from my home country?

If it's not allowed to do so within the mainland, can it be done from Hong Kong ??

thanks for your time and consideration.

According to the new regulations, visa can not be converted to other type within mainland PRC, I can not assure you with the application in HK as well, because the commissioner Office may only accept applications from HK residents with HK ID card. So, you are suggeted to apply for student X directly before leaving.

I registered a university to study in mainland with L(tourist), they can offer you the paper and you apply X in PRC, just need take a week to get the paper and deliver to PRC, make sure yours is L and have enough time to wait.

Did you change the L to X after they changed all the regulations? When did you do it?
