About:China Visa Application in USA

Applying at Consulates

I would like to apply for my visa at the San Francisco Consulate when on a visit, but the consulate with jurisdiction over my home state is Chicago, can I do this?

I am afraid not, you have to apply from Chinese consulate in Chicago.
