Opposite lucky directions and elements

How do we manage opposite Feng Sui ?for him lucky direction is north east and south and south west and for me west, north and north west.Our house faces west good for me! my balancing element is metal and his is wood somthatbis very different also.hes a black rat born in a black snake year and I'm a red rat born in a black dragon year.Thanks for any insights.
