getting a visa while in another country

Question

I am an american citizen that is on a tourist visa in Kenya for the next six months. However, for Christmas I want to meet up with a friend that will be in China. What is the easiest way for me to get one here as an American? I'm in a remote village about 7 hours outside of Nairobi. I am coming back to the states for three weeks in october through mid November.

You can apply in USA when you go back in October. Time is sufficient as the regular processing takes 4 working days only at Chinese embassy/consulate.
