Best way to travel in China

I would like to plan my own trip. From Beining to Lhasa to Nanjing (and maybe Suzhou) to Shanghai. Could you tell me if it is possible to take the bullet train for the whole trip and if so how many hours between each stop. Would it be better to fly?

Actually, there is only one train running from Beijing to Lhasa - T27, not bullet train. It takes around 43h for the whole journey. It could be a harsh trip and not advisable. You can fly to Lhasa directly and it takes around 4h.

Then from Lhasa to Nanjing? Well, there is still only one train between and it takes around 45h. Plane is also suggested.

Nanjing to Shanghai, bullet trains are frequently scheduled. It takes 128.5-139.5RMB for a second class seat and 186.5-219RMB for a first class seat.

Which city will you fly out? Anway, you can travel in this sequence: Beijing - Nanjing - (Suzhou) - Shanghai. There are bullet trains between them. Then fly from Shanghai to Lhasa.
