Who: the ancient Chinese laboring people (common people, farmers, soldiers and slaves) in the Warring States Period, Qin, Ming and other dynasties constructed that.

When: Its construction started from the Warring States Period and ended at the Ming Dynasty, lasting more than 2,000 years.

Why: It was built to protect the people and territories south of the wall from a continued threat of invasion by the northern nomadic tribes.
