AMSTERDAM TO SYDNEY THROUGH GUANGZHOU - CHILEAN PASSPORT - 6 HOURS AT THE AIRPORT - VISA NEED?

I'm chilean living and working in the Netherlands with a permit (not a passrport), I'm planning to travel to Australia (I already have my Visa to Australia) from Amsterdam through GZ. Is not clear for me in the Chinese Visa apliccation service center (official site), the information that you provide about the exeption of Visa for Chilean passengers on transit through GZ since August 1, 2013.
I really would like to know if this is already official before to book my flight in China Southern Airlines.
Do I have to do some paper work for to apply to a visa or not?

Many thanks

Stefanie

Since you have Chilean passport and make a transfer in GZ, the visa is not needed.
The policy was in operation from August 1, but I am not very clear about your booking time. Generally speaking, if you flight reach GZ airport after August 1, passengers can enjoy this policy.
If you book the ticket before August and also want to enjoy this policy, it is suggested to contact the airline company and I am sure they will help you to solve this problem.
