Hi, you can take a train tro travel from Shenyang to Baihe. The Baihe Railway Station is around 20km from the north slope of Changbaishan. Then you can rent a car or share a miniva with other people to reach there easily.
Of course, upon arrival at Baihe, you can also take a taxi to reach, but my friend says that taxis are much less and hard to take.

Oh, the train between Shenyang and Baihe would cost you CNY100 or a little more with sleeper and if you wanna a ticket of hard seat, it only costs around CNY50. By train, you will get to Baihe within 13-14h.

To share a minivan with others, you may just need to pay CNY40-50 to Changbaishan.
