from beijing airport to Guangzhou -is it beijing west or east and Guangzhou market is east or west

Most of the trains going to Guangzhou depart from Beijing West Train Station. If you'd like to take the high-speed G-Trains, you will arrive at Guangzhou South Station, There is no soft or hard sleepers equipped on the G-Trains. If you want to take other train types, the soft sleeper is available. At present, the train tickets are leased to the public 20 days prior to the departure date. Thus, if you book the tickets 4 days in advance, there might be no ticket left.

I've just been to China. Did the soft sleeper from Xian to Shanghai. Big mistake.

Aircon hardly worked (38C !!!), toilets were disgusting, buffet car had no service and nobody spoke English, and the cart service was basic; nothing was chilled. Add to that a Chinese bloke who snored for 10 hours in our cabin and a rock hard bed (soft ?!?!), it was a nightmare.

Take a bullet train, your own food and drink, and allow for huge queues at the station for security and ticket checks.
