Will renewel of residence permits suffer due to new regulations?

I have been working in China over four years now, on a residence permit, I hold an expert certificate issued by State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, PRC. Will the new regulations effect the renewel i.e will I have to exit, submit for renewel and enter again? Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, seeing as my question does not concern travel in China.

Don't worry, you can still renew your residence permit without leaving. Make sure submit your application for renewal of residence permit one month prior to the expiration date.
