About:Hong Kong Visa Application

Visa free entry as tourist, reenter as student?

After having applied for a student visa through a HK university, and while still waiting for the sticker to arrive at the current place of residence, is one entitled to enter HK freely as a tourist (with a EU passport, and not intending of course to start studying on that basis) or are there troubles to be expected at the border?

You are free of visa requirement to HK for a stay up to 90 days. So, it is ok if you want to enter first as a tourist. You can start study after you get your student one.
