Im a student living in the UK and am applying on a mandarin language course lasting 3 months in Beijing. I was wondering which type I should apply for and how I can apply for it here in the UK?

You should apply for short time X2 for this purpose. If you reside within consular district of Chinese embassy in London, you should submit your application to CVASC in London. Invitation letter or admission letter from the school is required.
