How many days would be good to stay around the city, and how many days we need to go up the mountain?Any recommended place of stay in the city and up the mountain?

From HK, it is suggested to go to Shenzhen first, where you can find direct flight to reach HS directly. To climb the mountain and stay on the peak, two days are OK and enough. There is no interesting places in the city downtown area, so it is not suggested to spend a long time to stay there. I think you can go to Xidi and Hongcun from HS and I am sure those two villages will leave you a deep impression.
