About:Policy for Foreigners with Immediate Family Living in China

I wanna know if I can get the residence permit in China and what kind of visa should I apply for? and do i have a work permit with that or not?

I have married with a Chinese girl and both of us are on a temporary residence permit in Belgium now. We would like to move to China after our graduation, thanks

You first apply for a L type (family visit one) to enter China. Then you can go to the local police station to apply for a temporary resident permit which enables you to stay in China for six months or one year. In addition, you can extend it at the local police station too.

Thanks a lot. I read a lot of different things that made me really confused. I heard there is a new policy coming into order from September dividing the L visa into more specific travel purposes. A new Q1 type is provided for those going for a family reunion. I heard this is the policy from September 1st. I dunno if it's real or not but I also found it in the website of Chinese Government. Although, even if it's true it's not clear that if it's possible to work on a Q1 type(a residence permit) or not.
