Transit from GuangZhou to HongKong!

Hey! I am flying from Europe to Guangzhou and then later on (same day) to Hong-Kong. Do I need the visa for this? What about if this flight is bought but is not the real connection (might need new check in?)- now it should be 72 hours free transit in HK?

Thanks.

Hi, may I know how long will you stay in Guangzhou airport? as I know, it is ok if you will remain in the airport transit area for a stopover less than 24 hours. 72 hr free transit is only available in Beijing and Shanghai currently.
