About:Chinese Consulate in Chicago

I'm visiting my mother and father-in-law (my wife's parents) in China.

I'm a US citizen. I have a letter of invitation from them with their full information (address where I stay, etc.). Do i need additional ducumentation for travel visa? Like my W-2 forms, etc.?

Your marriage certificate is required, and if necessary, your wife's birth certificate should be provided as well. If your marriage certificate was issued in USA, it should better be notarized by Chinese embassy/consulate there.
