Cremation

My grandmother of 104 passed away two months ago in Toronto who is a resident of Canada. She was cremated and my uncle wants to bring her ashes (in an urn or box) to china to bury her. What are the legal documentation from both the Canadian and china end to get it through without any problems.

I heard it is allowed to take her ashes to China. Generally, you may need to prepare documens as follow:
1. Her identification paper: passport or ID card
2. Proof of her Death that is issued by a state owned hospital or the local executive authority. The papers should show her name, gender, age, nationality, cause of death, date of death and other information
3. Death report that is issued by the local public security department
4. Proof to show that the ashes have been disinfected and disinsected
5. Cremation proof that is issued by foreign exequy department

Besides them all, you need other documents. For details, it is suggested to consult China Embassy in your place.
