visiting yuanyang in august

Question

Hi, would you happen to know the weather in YY in mid or late August which I wish to visit ? Also, if I am travelling alone to these areas, do you have a local guide that can take me from Kunming. I would like to stay a night there and view the sunrise as well. Alternatively, can I take a taxi there and how long is the trip ? Would I be able to find a taxi easily to take me back to Kunming ?

I think there is no big difference between the two periods. As far as I know, the best time is from the November to Feburary in the next year. From KM, it is hard for you to find a tour guide to accompany you to reach the terrace, but you can find a tour guide at YY locally. It is not suggested to take a taxi to reach there, because the journey on the road takes about 8 to 9 hours. You can easily find the buses to go back to KM.
