Rat or Ox?

Hi I'm a female born of march in 1996 which makes me a rat, however I was put in the wrong grade at an early age and now I show characteristics of the ox. Is this possible? And is it a good thing? Whenever I see people with the Chinese zodiac of the rat I feel kinda intimidated and admire and understand their confidence but can't seem to have it myself, like I'm rigid or lost a part of myself. I know it is not all bad though because I am extremely hardworking now and do well in school. But anyway could someone please just tell me if this changes my zodiac sign. Thanks
