time limit from receiving expert work permit/invitation letter to z visa application???

Question

Once I get my foreign expert's permit and invitation letter from my employer in China is there any time limit for me to go to the embassy here in the UK for my application?

Your work permit is valid for six months. You need it to apply for the work visa and then change it to temporary resident permit and apply for the employment pass when you arrive in China. So my suggestion is to apply for the Z type as early as you can in case your future plan is affected. If you get the Z type one, you just need to enter before it expires.
