Arriving Pudong airport via China eastern airlines then 8 hours later catching flight to Philippines with the same airline do we need to collect baggages then recheck it again

I have got a 4 year old boy and worried that we have to carry our baggage around the airport. Any help will be appreciated . We are flying with this airline for the first time. thanks again
