telephone communication between chinacanada

My daughter will be travelling to China next week.  We live in Canada.  What would be the best and less expensive way to communicate with us with her cell phone.

I used GoTone (Global System for Mobile communications) by China Mobile. It is convenient for international communications. You may try that. Another choice can be 1st phone card. One of my friends use it and it is cheap enough, but I am not sure where you can buy it.
