Travel from Chennai, India to Washington,DC via bangkok and Bejing. Do I need a transit visa?

Hi: Me and my wife are US citizens. We are travelling to US from India. The flight is Chennai to Bangkok to Beijing to Washington, DC.

I think you needn't apply for one if you just transit in Beijing.
