I am from Vancouver, Canada. I plan to visit CZ- Chao'an (Anpu) where my father originated. He went to Singapore in his early age. We are Tan (Chen) clan. I speak CZ and I understand my paternal grandmother was Seah. I wonder if is there a way I can trace the roots before I visit. Any pointers?

I'm afraid not. It is so hard to track the root online, and I suggest you go there yourself and find/trace what you want to know.
