About:Hohhot

Naman from Nepal but currently staying in New Delhi.

I hold an ordinary Nepalese passport. Can I apply for a L type to mainland & Hong Kong through the Embassy in New-Delhi? Is it true that Nepalese citizen aren't granted one for Hong Kong? And what if I need to extend my stay in mainland by a month or two?

If you come to Indian temporarily, you need to get a certificate from the embassy of Nepal in India before you hand in your application. And your valid Indian visa is also needed. As far as I know, you can apply for Hong Kong visa from the Chinese embassy in New Delhi. But I am not sure if you can get it. If you want to extend your stay, you just need to go to the local entry and exit management department at least seven days before your original one expires.

Thanx for your reply,Sally. As a Nepalese citizen,we do not require a visa to come to India even for permanent stay. India-Nepal share an open border relation for its citizens. It is quite important for me to visit Hong-Kong as I've my family members there. How do I make sure I get one for Hong Kong as well?

Then you can apply in India. But for the application to HK, you can submit your application to the embassy. They will send your application to HK Immigration Department for approval. Personally, I think it is possible for you to get one because you have family there.
