Hello All , I will Be Travelling to Shanghai from Hangzhou by Train in Some days , But the thing is I Have my Passport with me now , But the Day i will Be Travelling My Passport will be with Exit & Entry Administration Dept. In Order for my Visa Extension .

I need to know 2 Things ...

1. Can i Travel with out My Passport ? ( I will Keep Passport Copy for Safe Side & I Will Also have the Receipt Given by the Dept. that i Had Submitted my Passport and When i will be Receiving my Passport .

2. Can i Book a Ticket Without Passport ( I Dont Know Any Local Chinese People Here to Use There ID Card).
Or I can Book a Train Ticket by the Copy of My Passport and the Receipt of the Dept.

P.S : Should i Avoid Travelling now and Travel Later When i Will have Passport Near Me ..

1. Yes, you can travel without your passport, but just with the copy and receipt.
2. I remember you can get a ticket, by purchasing or booking, only with your passport number. For this case, you can consult an online booking agency like TravelChinaGuide.

Anyway, for convenient and to ensure everything to go smoothly, you'd better travel when you get your passport.
