what is the resemblance of the great wall

what was the resemblance of the greatwall to chinese people in the ancient days,considering that many lives were lost during the bbulding of the wall

Considering that many people dies for its construction, personally, Terracotta Warriors and Horses have somewhat resemblance with that.
