About:Chinese Embassy in South Africa

I want to take my child on a trip to china - what documents do i need to apply for my child?

Will a normal birth certificate be ok and a letter from both parents?

For a child under 18 years old, at lease one of the parents should come to apply. You can fill the application from on her/his behalf but makes sure get it signed by both of the parents. In case that one of the parent does not travel together, a letter of consent from that absent parent should be attached, along with his/her passport copy. Unabridged birth certificate of the child, or an affidavit from the parents is required as proof of filial relationship.
