The process of making paper was a very complicated problem in the Han dynasty. they fist had to grind plant fibers such as mulberry bark into a paste. Then they had to lay out the paste and form it into the shape of the shapes. Finally they let the paste dry turning it into paper.

The inventor of paper, Cai Lun, worked the fibers of rags, hemp, bark, and other scraps into sheets of paper. It could be made out of most plant fibers.
