About:China Visa Application in UK

One visa or two for my trip?

I'm travelling from Kagoshima (Japan) to Shanghai in July.
Staying one night in Shanghai as a tourist.
Then onwards to the UK the next day.
Then, I'm returning to Japan via Shanghai (change of planes only: "transit" inside the airport).
Can I get a double-entry, or do I need two different types?
Thank you.

You are exempted from visa if you stay in Shanghai for less than 72 hours each time. But your valid passport and onward flight ticket are required.

Keith,
Thank you very much! I just did another search. I found the information regarding "From 1st January 2013" which clearly states that I'm exempt!
Thanks again for putting me on the right track.
