About:Marriage Registration in China

need to "register" our marriage certificate which is from Canada

Hi there,

I'm a Canadian and my wife is Chinese. We were married in Canada over 5 years ago. For part of application process that I am currently trying to deal with, I am being told that we have to do it.

At this time, I have been told that the "registering" of the document must occur at a Chinese Embassy outside of China. Is this a standard document process that most embassies will deal with?

I will be in Thailand for a month this summer and I'm willing to schedule time to go to the Chinese Embassy in Bangkok to pay for this service. Unfortunately, I've looked at their site and don't see specific information saying they perform this process.

I appreciate any help that someone might be able to offer regarding my situation.

Thanks you in advance.

? I think you mean to register your marriage in China and get a Chinese marriage certificate, right? so that you can apply for a long-term Chinese visa.

I am in a somewhat similar situation, from my understanding, it differs from province to province, I went through the procedures to just obtain all the required documents for my work in Beijing, now from Beijing we are relocating to Suzhou, and we are also required to obtain some sort of approval to say that our Australian certificate is genuine, but it must be outside of China.
