About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Denpasar - HK - Shanghai - HK - Jakarta

I'm flying from Denpasar to Hong Kong where i will stay for 24 hrs.than HK to Shanghai where is will stay less than 72 hrs.back to Jakarta via HK but this time only transit in HK for 1 hour for the connecting flight.
I'm carrying a Dutch passport.

Is this 72 hrs.Visa Free transit applicable in this case ?

I am afraid not unless you leave for Jakarta from Shanghai directly. According to the rule, the place of departure and destination couldn't be the same place. You arrive in Shanghai from HK and then go back to HK. This isn't in accordance with the rule.

I'm staying transit in HK on my way to Jakarta , than still not applicable for 72 hr.free transit ?

There is no direct flight from SH to Jakarta with Cathay Pacific

Boarding pass from HK to Shanghai and flight ticket to Jakarta are required for this free transit, I am not sure if a transit through HK again counts an return trip.
