G4 shanghai to Beijing

We are arriving in shanghai at the royal Caribbean terminal boashan, and want to travel that day to Beijing on the G4, can we book tickets in advance and collect at the railway station prior to train departure?
How far in advance can we book? Do we have to pay cash, or can we use credit card?

Yes, you can book tickets in advance and collect at the railway station. I suggest you book tickets as soon as possible since the tickets could only be issued 5~20 days prior to the travelling date based on the regulations of China National Railway Authority. You have to pay cash if you went to the raiway station to buy it.
