About:China Transit Visa

Would we need to apply for transit visas if we wish to leave the airport?

We are stopping over in Beijing for 9hours and would like to leave the airport.
I am an Australian national and my partner is British.
Would we need to apply for transit G if we wish to leave the airport?

No, you both are eligible to transit freely in Beijing, actually you are allowed a stay up to 72 hours. You can leave the airport if you want.
