Malaria in Lijiang

We are travelling to Shangrila, LJ, Shaxi and Dali. I am finding conflicting info regarding malaria tablets. We will be driving. Anyone know for sure please?

Do you mean you are afraid whether to take malaria tablets when you travel to that area?
If so, I can tell you it is not necessary to take those medicine.

Not afraid to take medication, just afraid of catching malaria. Some articles say i need to take medication, others don't. Just not sure what to do.....
