Is there a red candle ceremony in Chinese marriage like in the book Joy Luck CLub?

In the book both ends of a horizontal candle are lit and the candle burns overnight, representing a long happy marriage.

In ancient Chinese culture, the tradition you said really existed, but now modern people seldom do it. Chinese modern people usually have their wedding ceremony in western style.
