US citizen with an old Hong Kong ID card (issued in the 1983) for HKSAR passport

I am a US citizen with an old Hong Kong ID card (issued in the 1983), a British Oversea passport issued in Hong Kong. I also have my birth certifacte from Hong Kong.

I wanted to apply for the HKSAR passport. Do I have to renew my Hong Kong ID Card before I apply for the HKSAR passport?

Hi, I think you need to renew your HK ID card before application. Here is the reference of the eligibility of HK SAR passport http://www.gov.hk/en/residents/immigration/traveldoc/hksarpassport/eligibilityforpassport.htm
