About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

L Visa duration

I'm over 18 and a U.S. passport holder. I live with my mom (who is Chinese citizen) in Shanghai. The local PSB says I can no longer extend it (last time they gave me six months) and must leave the country to get a new one. If I go to Hong Kong for it, will I be able to get an L with a 90 day or 180 stay per visit? Thanks

Hi, it is hard to say because the officers there has the final say to your application. Generally, L for family visit with long duration is issued to foreign children under 18. I am not sure if you are a student or plan to work, you may able to get other types with longer duration.
