Receiving texts from US while traveling in China

I am traveling to China in May 2013. I would like to have a prepaid US cell phone that will work in China. That way my family can text me to a US phone number and I can receive it in china. I did this last time on Verizon, but I have since dropped them. Is there a prepaid US service that works in China?

If you want to buy a prepaid service phone in US, it is suggested to ask the phone operator in your country.
As far as I know, some phones can be used in China if you open some service through the phone company, so you may need to ask the phone company and the operators in your countries.
