Interesting Rural Villages to visit in Guiyang

I will be travelling to GY in June/July this year, and I would like to see some of rural china. Are there any suggested places I could visit around here?

You can go to the smalls towns belong to Liping and Leishan Counties, which not only located in remote area, but also have specific cultures for their own towns and nationalities.

From GY there are a number of tours that will take you to the Miao Village. It's not a short trip. It's 4 hours each way and the tour busses leave early in the mornings. However, you will see Guizhou country side the entire way there and back. You will get a great view of both old and new along with the collisions between the two. At the Miao Village itself you will see an incredible way of life. It's not just a tourist trap. It truly is an amazing adventure into the past and present.

GY and it's people are amazing and special. Honestly, take your backpack and just hit the streets there. It's an amazing experience. Enjoy the street food and the fact that these cities don't really start to unwind until about 1:00AM.

You will enjoy yourself.
