About:China Embassy in Thailand

Is a UK citizen able to apply for Chinese visa at embassy in Bangkok?

I will be in Thailand before travelling to China, and so would be easier (and cheaper) to apply for it over there rather than in the UK. Am I likely to encounter any problems if applying in Bangkok?

Hi Emma, it is not a good idea. You are suggested to get visa in advance in UK than risk in Bangkok. Foreign passport holders may be required to apply through travel agencies and they may charge much.
