train from hk to guangzhou stop at shaoguan?

Hello,We are arriving at Hong Kong soon and would like to visit Shaoguan as side trip. and wonder if the high speed train from Hung Hom to Guangzhou has a stop point there? or do we need to go over to Shenzhen railway station to take the train there?thank you Teo

No, the train will not stop at Shaoguan along the journey. Thus it is suggested to reach via Guangzhou or Shenzhen. Through Guangzhou, you can take the train at Hung Hom to Guangzhou East Railway Station. Near the railway station, you can walk to the Guangzhou Passenger Transportation Center to take a direct bus to Shaoguan. Via Shenzhen, you can East Rail Line to Luohu first. Then you can transfer to another train to your destination at Luohu Train Station. Or at the nearby Qiaoshe Bus Station, there are buses heading for that city.
