Adapter for Japan please?

Traveling from US to Japan. Was told a Kikkerland Universal Travel Adapter would work. Although Japan is not listed as one of the countries, the package says it works in more than 150 countries. Can't find info if Japan is one of them. Was also told that China and Japan would use the same adapter. Can someone tell me if this will work or what type of adapter to buy? Thanks!

American-standard socket is widely used in Japan. It is different with that in China.

For two pronged devices, you generally do not need a plug adapter as the US and Japan uses the same plug configuration. There is no ground in Japanese sockets, so if you have three pronged devices, you will need an adapter. China and Japan do not use the same plug configuration so you will need a different adapter, or a universal adapter.

I use a Road Warrior plug adapter that I purchased when I lived in Japan. This is similar to the Kikkerland but works in more countries and accepts more plug types.

I bought a killer land and it doesn't work in south Africa! I agree with the poster above. Cobalt or Road Warrior are the best!

Darned autocorrect. That was supposed to say "Kikkerland". It doesn't work in South Africa. Try Conair (another autocorrect issue!) or Road Warrior. Both awesome.
