About:Chinese Embassy in U.K.

I am a dual US/UK citizen living in the US. Does it matter which passport I submit for my visa

If you apply in US, you must use US passport for application.

I don't think so as you can exit the USA on your US passport and enter China on your UK passport. But maybe Chris has some extra insight or experience that I'm not aware of.
