danxia zhangyemati si

Question

hi,next week me and my husband go to Zhangye to see Mati Si and Danxia. We arrive there on 4.April at 4:30 pm and will leave on 6. April at 6 p.m. 1. is it possible to catch the last bus to go to Danxia on 4/4. is there a bus to come back?2. Where do I find the schedule  of the buses inside the park?3. next day(5/4) I want to rent a taxi for the entire day from Zhangye to Mati Ci and back with a stop at Danxia. is it possible? My Chinese is quite poor. how much would it cost?4. Is it realistic to make the same route by public transport and take only the taxi from Sunan to Mati Ci?4. How much time do I need for Mati Ci and Danxia? like 3-4 hours for each?5. Maybe somebody will be there those days and might want to join is?

It is hard for you to take the bus for Danxia on th same day.To reach the park, you need to take the bus to Sunan County from local West Bus Station and the last bus for Sunan stops at 15:00.  The timetable is not certain and it is suggested to askt the bus driver. Seldom people rent a car to reach the Mati Temple and then go Danxia, so it is hard to tell you the fare. I just hire a tax to reach Danxia and it cost me about 150RMB and I heard the fare of renting a car to the temple costs around 180 to 200RMB.It is not realistic for you to take the local public buses. It is hard to take the public buses to reach there for Chinese, let alone you two who is quite poor in Chinese.3 to 4 hours are enough for each.It is suggested to reach Danxia in the afternoon, because the sunset is beautiful.

Thank you, Ellen! I think we will go to Mati Si on the last day of our stay in Zhangye (hope we won't miss our train). Is there more places to see next to the Danxia landscape park?
